@fedops@fosstodon.org it's beautiful! Nature, as it should be.

@MiaMarkTwo@syzito.xyz Exactly. That's why I stopped. Somewhere else can definitely be my garden.

And, suddenly, the sky turned to black

#Thunderstorm

Over the past few days, a few crickets have made their way into the house.
Whenever I can, I guide them back outside so they don't land on us during the night.

This morning, I was mowing the lawn a bit - not much, just as much as needed, before the rain - and there were plenty of them in the garden.
A neighbour, as often happens, suggested I cut it shorter "to drive the crickets away". I looked around: all my neighbours' lawns are kept extremely short, and the surrounding countryside is completely plowed.

"And where are the poor crickets supposed to go?"
"They'll find somewhere else."

I put the lawnmower away and decided that, in my garden, they are more than welcome.

...disappointed...

@hkz@chinwag.org some more extreme events are expected later today 😔

@hkz@chinwag.org @@stefano@rpi0w.stefanomarinelli.it this time it passed without major damage. But at 5 last night it was much worse. Another alert for tomorrow, late morning. Tropical weather…stay safe!

@hkz@chinwag.org this is what I'm currently seeing, too. Not reassuring at all.

Like last years, it seems that the crickets love getting inside our house. I can hear one of them under the fridge. I think if it’s a place he likes, he can stay there for the night.

I'm getting more and more interested in #MeshCore and #Meshtastic - in the rabbit hole. Thank you, @_elena@mastodon.social ... 😠 😆

@poes@sok.egois.org it shouldn't be too far from being released!

@joany@bsd.cafe it builds but, to be honest, we didn't test it (yet)

@luca@sironi.xyz I love this song. Thank you for sharing it!

@packet@bsd.cafe it will be released and will compile (it already does) for all the GO supported architectures.

At the moment littleFedi is able to pre-build binaries for 43 platform variants (all CGO_ENABLED=0, statically linked). ARM targets include both armv6 and armv7 variants.

"What do we have that AI doesn't, and why will it never have it? Artificial intelligence does not die. Therefore, it lacks that awareness of human finiteness, because we all confront our own end. It has no awareness of the end, it knows neither love nor pain.
If it did, it would become a human being.

Dacia Maraini

I was hearing strange sounds in the room; it was a cricket that had come in. I kindly brought it back to the garden. Now I hear the same sound again…

I’m testing some #MastoBlaster fixes, mostly under the hood and to improve compatibility with #littleFedi.

At this point, it should be obvious that this is a test 😉

@fd0@mastodon.nl it's improving. We're ironing out some bugs, some inefficiencies and testing some improvements. There are various branches (sqlite, PostgreSQL, s3, etc.) and we're trying to merge them into one single branch, with compile time tags (if you don't need PostgreSQL and/or s3, you can avoid compiling it into the binary).

This means: we're not too far, at this point...
