There is a cricket, a single cricket that chirps every evening outside the bathroom window. So loud that it can be heard even with the windows closed, and it's a curious phenomenon because I had never heard one this loud before.
These are the sounds I will miss, with the cold.

As a child, I could spend hours mesmerized listening to the crickets and watching the fireflies at night. Now there are hardly any; they're disappearing. Luckily, there are still hummingbirds and lizards in my yard.
