@sirpondo@snowfan.it Le piccole istanze sono quelle che continuano a mantenere la garanzia di decentralizzazione. Per ogni grande istanza c'è un rischio di "monopolio", centralizzazione o, peggio, deriva.
La posta elettronica ne è un esempio: ha smesso di funzionare efficacemente quando i grossi player hanno monopolizzato quel mondo e convinto tutti che se hai il tuo mail server, "avrai problemi di invio e ricezione" - quando, in realtà, la colpa è tutta loro.

@pa@zusammenhalt.de @@stefano@rpi0w.stefanomarinelli.it this is not totally my work, but a team work. I only had a part on it. This has been tested by creating some local instances into FreeBSD jails and making them a federation. Mastodon, snac, gotosocial that were only federating one another and with littleFedi. Some bugs came out, some others are still here. It’s not ready, yet, but not that far
